Our Quality starts well before the mine is opened by core drilling the property, testing and confirming the clay quality across the depth of the deposit, and establishing a mine plan to assure consistency across the life of the mine. Our engineers and material scientists utilize both X-Ray Florescence (XRF) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) in our testing lab to manage the properties of incoming clays to be processed and outgoing shipments to customers. Christy Minerals utilizes Gradex particle sizes analyzers for repeatable particle sizes results. We also operate a laser diffraction particle size analyzer for finer particle sized materials.

With the acquisition of the Fused Silica business from 3M in 2025, we have added high quality Fused Silica to our product portfolio. This facility features an extensive testing laboratory for raw material and fished product quality control with fully trained and experienced engineers and technicians to assure consistent quality with every pound produced.
