Christy Minerals Dynapoz is mineral admixture, or Metakaolin, for producing high performance concrete. Dynapoz is Class N Calcined Clay Natural Pozzolan and is produced in our facility in High Hill, MO USA.

The use of Pozzolans in concrete can be traced back to ancient Greek and Roman times. The Romans utilized volcanic pozzolans in their concrete with the most famous source being from Pozzouli in Italy, hence the name Pozzolan. Some of the most well-known Roman buildings which have stood the test of time are the Pantheon and the Pont du Gard, both constructed using pozzolan mixtures.

At Christy Minerals, we utilize our Kaolinitic Fireclays located in Central Missouri, which are selectively mined from some of the finest fireclay deposits in the world. Once mined, the Kaolinitic Fireclay is activated with heat in our rotary kiln under temperature and firing conditions optimized to maximize reactivity, forming a Metakaolin. Unlike other supplementary cementitious materials, which are industrial by-products, Dynapoz is manufactured under strict process controls.

A Metakaolin or Pozzolan is a supplementary cementing material (SCM) that reacts chemically with calcium hydroxide to produce additional beneficial binders. The benefits of utilizing Dynapoz as a partial cement replacement up to 20% include:

• Increased compressive and flexural strength
• Reduced permeability
• Improved durability
• Reduction of alkali-silica reactivity (ASR)
• Improved resistance to chemical attack such as sulfates
